If your AoR is June, you should wait for another 1-2 months before requesting GCMS notes. If you request them now, you will not have anything substantial in them. GCMS notes only help after your eligibility has started, which happens 2-4 months after AoR.

Also, for BIL and MEP it takes 45-60 days.
Thanks for such a comprehensive answer :)
I would wait then hoping to receive some update in next couple of months.

Hello @legalfalcon

I am FSW- O applicant. My medicals were expired in February 2021. Just before they expired, In January 2021, I did an upfront new medical exam and no body told me to do it.
I called IRCC and told me that I passed the new medical and it is valid till Jan 2022, but the officer didn't update my file yet.
still my GCKey didn't show information on the new medicals nor extended the results of the old one.

After more than 6 month of doing the new medicals. Is that normal not have any updates to my GCKey account with any new information ?
Best Regards,

@legalfalcon ; Just notice that you have this dedicated thread as well. So posting my query here too, I apologize for multiple posts.

I will appreciate it if you can help me to decode this response for my GCMS note.

I received a response for my GCMS note, and it says

Recommendation: Criminality – Review Required. RCMP screen stuck in batch sent. Review Required ( statutory questions ) “ – What it means, I haven’t submitted my RCMS report as I haven’t got any notification from IRCC to submit the same.

Actually, so far, I have not even received the Biometrics request, and this is what I notice under the Criminality page status

Criminality – In progress; Status updated by – BIOMETRICS; Assigned by – BIOMETRICS; Due Date 2021/01/21

I don’t understand the meaning of due date as I have never received any request to provide biometrics, so what this due date means. Is this for the agent assigned to it.

Also, in sub-activities for criminality, I notice this

Type – Biometrics-RCMP ; Status – NOT STARTED ; Status updated by – BIOMETRICS ; Assigned by – BIOMETRICS ; Due Date 2021/01/21

My Details

AOR – Jan 6 , 2021
Medical passed – Feb 3, 2021
Eligibility -- Not Started
Criminality – In Porgress
Info Sharing – In Progress
Security – Not Started

Thanks

Hello @legalfalcon

I have some questions about newly landed FSW-O immigrants

-1- Nowadays, how much does it takes for a new FSW-O immigrant to receive the PR card? As per the current processing times it is 111 days! Is that right or it's taking less than this time?

On this website (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/immigration-applicants.html#approved) and under "If we already approved your permanent residence application" it's mentioned that

If you’re outside Canada and your COPR and permanent resident visa are still valid
We’re changing Canada’s travel restrictions. If you hold a valid (not expired) Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and visa, you can travel to Canada as of June 21, 2021.
You must also

  • be coming to Canada to settle permanently (you cannot come to Canada and leave to go live in another country, even if it’s temporary) and
  • show you’re able to quarantine for 14 days
If you’re travelling by air, you need to pass a health check conducted by the airline before boarding a flight. If you show symptoms of COVID-19, you won’t be allowed to board.

-2- What does that sentence written in red mean? If I come today to Canada as a permanent resident, when can I leave a country? Is there a specific time I have to stay in Canada before I can leave it?

-3- For new landed immigrants that haven't got their PR cards, yet, is there a way by which they can leave Canada and come back to it? Or they should wait their PR cards to get issued first?

-4- Regarding the Confirming your permanent residence online portal, it's written in it (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/pr-confirmation-portal.html) that Once we review and accept the photo you submit, it will show this in the portal and you should get your PR card within one week. Is this portal for inland applicants only?

-5- Only inland applicants will get their PR cards in a week?

Thanks a lot for your usual help?

Hi @legalfalcon for proof of funds can I show a fixed deposit and should it be maintained for minimum 6 months your advice is needed

Yes, you can use FD as PoF. Also, you need to meet the 6-months requirement. If you do not meet it, you will have to show where the funds came from and that they are not borrowed. Eg. sale of an asset, stocks, etc.

IRCC no longers asks for RCMP PCC. Now when you give your biometrics, unless exempt, your biometrics are sent to RCMP and processed.

see https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/corporate-initiatives/biometrics/process-steps-2018.html

The statutory questions are the questions in the application about any prior criminal charge, visa refusal, human rights violation etc. If you answered yes to any of them, you will have a review required. In most cases, this is for a prior visa refusal. No need to be concerned.

The due date you see is a system generate date to remind the processing officer of the application and further action. How to read your GCMS notes, see https://bit.ly/3iVra9B

1. In most cases it takes 1-5 weeks.

2. There is no specific time frame, all IRCC requires is that you shoul not be travelling to Canada for just to get your PR landing done. You should have an intention to stay there.

3. If you cnanot wait, you will have to apply for a PRTD before you can travel back to Canda.

4. yes

In my case nothing is passed apart from Medical and Criminality is In-Progress since from February.
I was never asked for BIOMETRICS too and I notice for others, they ask for BIOMETRICS when they cleared their medical.

Any way for me to move my application ahead or should I just wait and watch.

Thanks

Hi @legalfalcon hope you are well. I am Jan 2020 applicant and stuck in comprehensive security screening since August 2020. I received my CSIS report along with preliminary release package in June 2021, according to the report the security screening was complete and report was sent back to IRCC in January 2021. Recently I also received the final release notes from CSIS. I want to ask question
1) What’s the difference between preliminary and final release of CSIS notes?

2) What significance does the release of final notes from CSIS have it on the comprehensive security screening process?

Does all this mean that CSIS has concluded its role in the comprehensive security screening process of my application

Thanks in advance @legalfalcon

1. In some cases CSIS cannot release the entire record as your security screening may be in progress, or the documents may not have been vetted. So what can be disclosed is released in the preliminary package, and the remaining is sent in the final package. However, with the preliminary package, you will know if your SS has been completed or not and whether CSIS is even involved.

2. Nothing. Requesting your information is your right. It has no bearing on the processing. All that matters is that your SS is completed and CSIS sent its report to CBSA 's National Security Screening Division (NSSD), who will compile the final recommendation and submit it to IRCC, id not done so already.

3. If your report says that CSIS sent its report on a specific date, then yes, CSIS's role is concluded.
