Hey i was planning to travel to Canada via an indirect route most probably between Aug 10-15 from Delhi, pretty much confused about what route to take, preferring Mexico as of now. Anyone planning the same can get in touch would love to travel along with someone who is in the same boat as me :)

Not in the same boat, but for suggestion, have you thought about this route:
Delhi to Moscow, Moscow to London,London to Canada (Toronto or Calgary or Vancouver)
(No transit visa needed for Russia)
(For UK, file 'Mandatory Passenger Information Request' form 48 hrs before arrival, transit visa not required)

Do we need to stay there in London for a night or 2 ?

No,you need not to stay in London.

If you are going to Toronto, based on the latest information I have, there are 3 flights from London Heathrow everyday, two of British Airways, first British Airways at around 11:30 am,one of Air Canada at around 2 pm ,the last flight to Toronto leaves at 5:10 pm.

These flights are available daily both on weekends and weekdays.

You can file the Passenger Form for UK while starting your journey from India because filling it 48 hrs before arrival is mandatory.

Are you sure about London? Please may you share where you got this information from.

I have been strictly avoiding London, UAE even they offer the cheapest flights.

That's a long route. What's the fare

Yes,I am sure, but please verify once again what I said, because border restrictions are unpredictable and change within a short notice.India is on 'UK Red List', but possible for Indian citizens to transit via third country.

Yes it is long,it will cost 170,000 to 175,000 Indian Rupees in Basic Economy without checked in baggage (If only booked through 'SkyScanner' app or website)

3 Separate bookings are required

With baggage,it should cost 200,000 to 250,000 Indian Rupees with checked in baggage

Calling the airline after booking to add checked in baggage is better as it is cheaper to do so

Brief itinerary
1:30 am Indian Time direct flight from Delhi to Moscow(Aeroflot)(6 hrs 50 mins)
9:50 am Russian Time direct flight from Moscow to London(Aeroflot)(4 hrs 15 mins)

2:05 pm London Time direct flight from London Heathrow to Toronto (Air Canada)(7 hrs 40 mins)
OR
5:05 pm London Time direct flight from London Heathrow to Toronto (British Airways)(7 hrs 50 mins)
OR
2:10 pm London Time direct flight from London Heathrow to Vancouver (Air Canada)(9 hrs 20 mins)

Total Travel time:About 30 hrs and no hotel stay required.

Lots of flying without proper sleep & extremely stressful, but possible to start the journey from India and arrive in Canada on the same date.

Not recommended for someone with pre-existing medical conditions which might get worse because of long hours of flying.

Currently I am more inclined towards Maldives and Albania since cases in Mexico have started to increase.
