Hi Experts,

I am looking for a suggestion. We applied for our parents visa in 2019 and submitted application in May 2019.
After long wait with no progress we received the re-medical request this week. We have booked the appointment for the same.
Our visa office is Mississauga.

My parents are old and with almost no help in India.
We are thinking if we should apply for Visitor visa .

Question is
1)Does it make sense to apply for visitor visa now considering the medical request came this week for PR.
2) Do we know what is the processing time it takes for Visitor Visa?

Really appreciate the help here!

I still have a question: We had planned a visit to Toronto to see family, on August 10 after the USA-Canada border opens.
This time we will only stay for a short time. Do we necessarily have to land on Aug 10, or can we enter as visitors (US citizens) and in a couple of months land officially? Need to get goods to follow list done, etc. COPR is good to end of March 2022.

Check the requirement of provincial health to be qualified if you need the medical care. Some provinces like BC requires the person to be resident at least for six months.

Hi all, got re-medical request for parents. I see the option of uploading documents in my online application but I understand that medicals are sent directly by the physician. Do we need to submit anything ourselves? Doctor has signed off the form but it doesn’t have any results as they mentioned all the results are sent to CIC directly. Please advise if we need to also submit the IME signed form from physician. Thank you and wishing us all to be connected and reunited soon with our loved parents and grandparents
Some participants uploaded scan copy of document provided by the examining physician.

Hi All, I have a few questions and really appreciate your valuable input:
1. We just received a new passport for my mom as her old one is going to expire in Feb 2022. Do we need to update CIC and how?
2. She has been in Canada with a super visa since Oct 2019 and I assume she has to leave within 24 months as per the guideline of a super visa. How she can get an extension so she can avoid going back in this pandemic time (and hope that her sponsorship will be approved by then)? BTW, her original super visa was issued until Feb 2022 (as per her old passport expiry date).
Thank you in advance.
Send scan copy of new passport using IRCC Webform.

Dear AAAAA,

The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must
complete the following steps within 30 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of
Permanent Residence and, if applicable, your permanent residence visa. If for any reason you are not
able to meet this deadline, please inform our CPC Mississauga office immediately via the IRCC Web
Form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp with details concerning your situation.

Due to the current situation regarding the novel coronavirus, if you are unable to provide the requested
documents by the due date, please advise our office. We understand that some documentation may be
unobtainable at this time. Your application will not be refused because you are unable to provide the
requested document on time.

STEP 2: Passport Requirements – Determine if you need to submit your passport(s)

https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/health/health-drug-coverage/msp/bc-residents/eligibility-and-enrolment/how-to-enrol/coverage-wait-period

"New (and returning) residents are required to complete a wait period consisting of the balance of the month in which residence in British Columbia is established, plus two months before benefits can begin."

There's a bit of misinformation here. New BC residents will have to wait at most 3 months to get MSP.
If you arrive on Aug 1st, your MSP will be activated on Nov 1st.
If you arrive on Aug 31st, your MSP will still be activated on Nov 1st.

To save on private insurance, plan to arrive near the end of the month,

In addition to this, there is residency requirement to continue to have msp coverage:

Thank you Good luck to you all!!!!
At least, we know that CPC-M is now working and processing.
Thanks, did you need to submit re-medicals and/or police verification twice? If yes, did you submit the re-medicals yourself on the portal or physician sent them directly?

Congrats!!! My timeline is very similar with yours. The medical request date and SA approval date are the same. Mine is also processed at CPC-M, but ECAS still shows IN PROCESS.
