I am a month ahead of your parent's timeline and am over 55 as well.
My application was marked "Decision Made" on the ECAS site as of June 29th, but on my tracker, it is still showing Language Skills as "In Progress" and Test as "Not Started". Neither of which is applicable to my application because of age exemptions.

It seems that Different departments deal with specific sections and it then gets passed on to another department as each stage is cleared.
Some sections are backed up more than others.

So it looks like we are all in limbo together.

I see you were asked for FP, I haven't received anything for that for my in-laws as yet. Other than that online status is as yours.

Not everyone has to get fingerprinted.
I believe I did because there was no such thing as biometrics when I became a Landed Immigrant.

When inquired through MP office, she said, they may get FP request, so lets see.

I don't see you on the spreadsheet. When did you last update your status? It might have been removed in a cleanup of stale entries.

Could you please provide your information in the following format so that I can add you to the spreadsheet?

Just sent out my application for PR Renewal - full 9 months in advance - showing my confidence that I am in for a long haul for this citizenship thingy LOL. I can only pray that I don't have to renew my PR for the 3rd time!

I have submitted my FP on July 7 and got the following update in the new online system this morning:

Fingerprint results: Received
We received your fingerprint information on July 22, 2021 and will review them shortly. Thank you!

Any idea what would be the next steps?

Also, my wife submitted her FP on July 7 too, but she hasn't got this update yet. Should we worry about that?

The next step would your BG checks being set to "Completed".

Your wife might get it at a later point in time if she still haven't received it.

Can't say that. It greatly varies. You can ask someone (from the same office as yours) whose FP was recently "received".
