Additional document required - am I still getting a result by this Friday or Aug 6?

Mates, what is your opinion regarding if I am going to get a result by this Friday or Aug 6? In the webinar, the VO said if additional documents was required, the Aug 6 deadline does not apply to my case.

I thought that it's been more than a month since they started reviewing my additional document. So perhaps they are also holding my results together with other applicants? So frustrated that I was requested documents.

I believe you still applied a lot early. What was the additional document? Was it something that was generally required but you didn’t provide first off?

Anyway. As per the US timelines also, you should receive it sooner or later. The VOs words just make it a doubtful case whether or not Aug 6 will be a hard deadline for you. Because Aug 6 applies globally but that small loophole about additional doc may make it worse.

Otherwise, expect decisions around that time only.

They requested my CV, academic papers, and employment info in the past 10 years.

I recently got my B.S. in Math from a Top school in the US, while before I started my study in the US, I was a military serviceman in China. They specifically asked what I did during my military period. I guess they are doing a security check on me. Not knowing how long it will take. I heard that a security check can sometimes take a year to complete, and I am so worried if that is going to happen to me.

I don’t want to scare you away. But don’t keep the Aug 6th deadline for yourself. I mean just pray it happens but don’t expect much.
Military service requires lot of scrutiny and IRCC has become so slow in last 18 months. Cannot promise anything.
