I have submitted my kid's citizenship application along with my wife's application. Neither of us are Canadian citizens yet. The application package was returned with the reason:
The photocopy of the parent's proof of Canadian citizenship, if applicable, is missing. Refer to instruction guide.
This is what the instruction guide has:
We don't have any of these. I am confused on why the application was returned and the documents we need to resubmit the application.

This is what the instruction guide has:
- One (1) photocopy of proof of the parent’s Canadian citizenship (if applicable)
Examples include:- provincial/territorial birth certificate;
- certificate of Canadian citizenship;
- certificate of naturalization;
- certificate of Registration of Birth Abroad;
- certificate of retention issued between January 1, 1947 and February 14, 1977.
We don't have any of these. I am confused on why the application was returned and the documents we need to resubmit the application.
