Work Experience Question

I have continuous 3 years of overseas work experience in the IT field in several companies:

1st company: 01 January 2017-01 December 2018 (23 Months)
2nd company: 01 December 2018 - 01 March 2019 (4 Months)
3rd company: 01 March 2019 - 01 January 2020 (9 Months)

According to CRS Ranking system, is it counted for 3 or more years? I am confused because they are asking for continuous work experience, do I have to complete 3 years in the same company to earn three years of experience points?

Thanks in advance

What really counts is your working hours as a total OR continuous

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/federal-skilled-workers.html

For you I believe it is 3 years of experience in the past 5 years for example. Providing that at least you worked and was paid for 30 hours a week .
Hi, generally full time here is 40 hours/week...with that calculation, 3 years work experience can be achieved much earlier, since we are not calculating with 30 hours/week. Is this ok?

Valid inquiry: )
I doubt it, lets say you worked for example 60 hrs per week for the last year so does this count as 2yrs experience? No i don't think so.

You can only fill in the gaps during a year with this rule, meaning during any 12 months worked for 40 hours for 36 total weeks instead of 30 hrs for 52 weeks then your experience will meet the min requirement for one year count.

: ) however very smart maneuver.

Of course you should be a current employee during that 12 month period (i mean not laid off) but only your working hours were on a specific criteria( not necessarily for same employer). I mean you cannot claim points for 6 months as an employee even with 1560 hrs experience for min requirement criteria.

Hi all,

I'm new here. Hope anyone answers my questions. I have over 8 years of full-time experience outside Canada. But To show the proof, there are a few items that needed to be included like a number of hours and annual salary which were not included in my employer testimonial of ex companies. I can easily show 4 years of experience from my current employer. But to get a reference letter from previous employers, some were already closed down. In the CRS calculator, the foreign experience was considered all the same as long as it is 3 years and above? Does it mean it is still enough if I showed my current experience of 4 years? Or is it better to show more experience? Is it okay if I still include my experience with my existing testimonials?

CRS score is maxed out at 3 years. You don't need to show proofs for full 8 years. if you can get proof for 4 years that is more than enough. Move the remaining 4 years in personal history post ITA.
