Hi Seniors/Experts,

My file is under process now so I am preparing myself for test and interview, Have one question before PR I used to live in gulf countries United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia as a resident I am originally from Pakistan but after the PR I never visit again gulf countries but I have travel history in my past 5 years passports so do I need to translate those stamps in English or not? If yes from where I can get translate in Mississauga ON or Milton ON.

Moreover this same case was with my cousin as well she passed the test and at the time of interview officer asked for translation even she never visited gulf countries after PR.

Appreciate your soonest response.

Sarim
Is this important even for PR application or only for citizenship? I have never been asked to translate Arabic entry and exit stamps

Hi at what stage is this requested? When you go for the test or oath?

Personally I have never heard of anyone being asked to provide translation of stamps on their passport.

My travel history on my current passport is after coming to Canada so I am thinking they can get the travel data from CBSA

I was asked to provide them after my test and I, honestly, wish I had brought the translations with me. I had to get them done after my test and mail them in. If you have stamps that aren’t in English or French I highly suggest getting them translated before going to your test/interview. That is,of course, once tests resume.

Thanks I need to look into this. My stamps are from US and mexico mostly. The mexico stamps are in Spanish so that should not be difficult to obtain.

How do these translated docs look like? Legal paper?

They are done by certified translators. It’s a notarized document with the translations and the notary stamp.

Thanks. I read somewhere that anyone can translate this as long as the translation is Notarized.

Docsbase.ca is a good company for notarized translation and their prices are competitive too.

@Kohl can you please send me contacts for translators ? I live in Atlantic Canada and they are crazy expensive here
Someone recommended docsbase for translations. I tried it too and they are cheap and quick. I'm sure they will have translators for Arabic -> English as well. It comes with a certification from notary public (included in the price they quote). Just fill out the form and they will get back to you.

My passport pages have stamps from Dubai. Each stamp is both in English and Arabic. Do I still need to get them translated? Just want to make sure that I don’t get any other requests from IRCC after I submit my documents.

AFAIK, if something is in English/French AND a foreign language, it might be okay not to translate them.
