It's just annoying, the fact that despite having access to our travel records from the CBSA (I authorized it in the forms), the burden is still upon us to provide proof of our travel.
I highly suspect that these cic officers are not accessing them for some reason because they still keep asking for boarding pass, ticket and entry stamp.
May be it takes time to request for cbsa hence they take shortcut. But either way its nuisance for candidates to prove(when we dont keep them generally).

Sorry for the long post.
Hey guys been a bit absent. Something funny happened with me recently.

I was outside of Canada for the last month and a half. I received the invitation to take the test but it said I must be present in Canada to take it.

It was due to expire on July 8th. I was flying back to Canada on July 4th, but considering the uncertainty and several previous cancelled flights, I sent them an email informing them of my plans and requesting an extension in the date of my test.

However I got back on the 4th, and passed the test.

Then I received an email a few days ago in response to my original request, the visa officer is asking me for proof of exiting Canada, and copy of ticket, boarding passes and entry stamp to Canada (upon my return). I asked them to disregard my request since I was back and already took the test, but they said that I have to provide them with whatever document/information they ask for.

Anyway I sent them a copy of my departure ticket, arrival stamps at the other country, departure stamp from the other country, copy of my return ticket.

However, I discarded my boarding passes a day after my arrival and the CBSA officer did not stamp my PP upon arrival.

So instead I sent them a copy of my post-arrival covid test at the airport (which has the date and location of the test on it), and I also sent them an invoice of my hotel stay (which has the check in and check out date and time).

I hope that's proof enough for them to know that I did indeed leave Canada and I am indeed back lol.

Anyway, just a tip for anyone travelling maybe keep your boarding passes and make sure the CBSA officers stamp your passports just in case.
This is a weird request. They could have simply queried CBSA to get both an exit and an entry record. Which office is your application being processed in?

I don't see you on the spreadsheet.

Could you please provide your information in the following format so that I can add you to the spreadsheet?

Location:
App Type: Single / Family (# of applicants)
Physical Presence Days:
App Sent:
App Delivered:
AOR:
In-Progress:
Test Email:
Test Date:

Also, from the new status dashboard, can you please provide the dates of the following :

Background Check "Completed" date
Citizenship Test "Completed" date

Thank you!

i've just received an electronic copy of my GMCS notes. Scrolling through, it says that fingerprints were due by July 7th but to date I haven't been notified that I needed to do this, or how/where to do it. Any advice please?

When did you receive your test invite and from which location?
Some people were able to do the test from outside Canada . I’m not sure why it’s not consistent over all local offices :/

I received the test request on the 15th of July 2021. I'm not sure where I received it from, but the email says IRCC.Mtlconvotests ..... , so I'm assuming the Mtl stands for Montreal ?

And this is what it said in the instructions :

"You must be physically present in Canada when taking the citizenship test. If you are outside of Canada, please contact IRCC by email at IRCC.MtlConvoTests.IRCC@cic.gc.ca to let us know your expected return date."

I agree. They have access to our travel records, maybe they asked me to provide proof, to perhaps save time ? Maybe I'm being too optimistic lol.

They might request whenever they review your file again. As we know, they never go by any deadlines. Deadlines are only for candidates for submitting the support documents. If they honor deadlines and processing timelines, most of us wont be in this forum ;)

Thanks. I've added you to the spreadsheet. When (date) did you take the test? Was it on July 5th?

You can't get your fingerprints done unless you receive a request letter from IRCC AFAIK. You'll have to wait for that letter before you can get your prints taken.

I have requested a bunch of applicants outside the GTA to update the status via DM. I suspect there are several stale entries here and our test invite (or the test completion) rate could be close to 50% or more if everyone updated on time.

Let's see if I get any updates from them. In about a couple of months, I think I'll start cleaning up the September 2020 spreadsheet again.
