Hi,

Hope this is the right place to post this question.

I am applying for my mother's tourist visa and I have a CoPR on which I cannot travel at the moment.
If I apply for a visitor visa for my mother, will I tick yes or no for any of the family members having a PR?

I am not sure since I officially don't hold a PR. If I pick no and later get the PR will this be considered a misrepresentation?

Also, how long does it take to get a tourist visa amidst the ongoing pandemic situation?

Thanks!

You don’t have PR so the answer is NO. Also if you haven’t landed she needs a visa and written authorization to travel. Visa processing times depends where she lives.

Thank you! We're both in India currently
Processing is about 6+ months. Has she done biometrics? If not, she will be waiting even longer and her file is not prioritized because you are not PR. She actually will not be able to travel at all until you land and become PR or until travel restrictions are lifted because her travel is not considered essential. Apologize but she is not even eligible to apply for written authorization to travel.

Thanks for the clarification! Good to know that they're at least processing visas. But based on what you told me seems like a better option for me to wait till I get the PR.

She can’t travel, if she receives a visa, until you are PR or until travel restrictions are lifted. Her visa is not a priority right now. So yes she will be waiting until one of the two happen.
