Since it’s obviously much faster to process the online applications they should have contacted everyone that has applied already and allowed them to reapply online before making the online applications available to new applicants. Instead of first fixing one problem, backlogs, they simply created another problem, pissed off backlog applicants

Yesterday I saw in the news 100,000 people became US citizens in the last week. In comparison, Canada should have 10,000 new citizens in the last week relative to the difference in population, but I doubt the number is way much less than that from following what's happening here. IRCC finds every excuse in the book to delay processing the applications. The pandemic is not a good reason for all this delay, and now offices can operate with some capacities if not full capacities.

I have asked them several times regarding the reason for delay and they always gave me the same answer as "COVID".

They say in their website that the processing time for citizenship grant is 12 months!!! Our applications have been processed for close to 24 months, and they have been finalizing applications between 12-18 May 2019 (only applications submitted in these 6 days) for about 2 months!!!!!

On new system webpage my all section has been updated to complete by July 5 last update. But has not got oath ceremony date? Does it mean I got positive decision? On old system webpage shows decision made but does not mention approve or reject?

You will not be rejected without getting a chance to present your case. Consider this DM as approval. Congrats.

Its summer time , they are on summer vaccations.
Just now I have talked with one person in my residential area and that person got test invite on beginning of June 2021, applied via paper filing on April 2020 and is a single applicant. So Single or Family factor matters most rather than Online vs Paper Filing.

IRCC is vague in what they say in the website. This vagueness gives them power to do whatever they want without any accountability. For example, they say you can request urgent processing for your PR card if you are travelling in the next three months if you provide proof, but then they go on saying even if you are qualified, we may not process your application urgently or that you will get your card in time!! I am either qualified or not qualified for urgent processing, but no for IRCC there is a gray area, you may be qualified, but we may decide you are not!! Is this a joke?!!! I wonder if immigration's applications are treated the same in other European countries with this secrecy and no transparency

I'm going to apply online.. idgaf since they seem to have forgotten about my paper application. Their officers handling online applications are likely going through those applications quicker than the ones handling the paper apps. I don't think it's advisable for me to do so, but I hate this sense of being out of control, and I'm not paying twice. I'm uploading the same receipt from the previous payment. There should be ZERO reasons for persons applying after us to get through before us. and I'm a single applicant.
