Hi all,
indian applied from UAE for SP & SOWP on april 24th and got rejected both on june 2nd with below reason:-
for SP
• based on your personal assets and financial status.
• based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• based on the purpose of your visit.
for SOWP
• based on the purpose of your visit.

- 1yr+1yr course(total 2yrs in same college)
- 1year fees paid
- GIC paid 14000 cad(for sp and sowp)
- networth shown for both(CA certificate)
- all documents submited including upfront medical
- mentioned parents and in-laws are in india(SOP) for showing home ties.
- Future goals and returning back to india was also mentioned.
- What is your previous qualification? If you have been on this site long enough you would see that going for a college certificate after bachelors or higher, is a recipe for refusal, especially if the course doesn't match your previously completed program.
- How much money did you show? They are not convinced you have enough liquid funds of your own.
- What properties or businesses did you show as ties to India? Parents and parent's properties are not ties.
- What is your status (and your spouse too) in UAE? What work are you both doing?
Main issue is that VO believes you are not going to Canada to study (i.e. purpose of visit) as you have not shown enough proof of that.

- Bachelors in Computer application- admission accured IT course(pgdm) in canada
- paid 1yr tution fee & 14k CAD GIC
- showed networth certificate wid home,FD and bank statements
- house wife in UAE and spouse is working in hospital field
So you are not currently working? When last did you work and was it in a related field?
Also, you showed the exact minimum funds. That's a bad idea, you should try to show more than that.
was working for 2years in a similar field.. now having 2 years gap(explained well the reason in SOP)
I was refused to enter based on two things:
One was that they believed I would not leave after finished my studies, and the second was that I had lied on my application that I had not had a visa refusal before. For that, I actually applied for a tourist visa before and was refused, and I did not mention that because I did not think it was
important, but I was wrong I guess.
I have applied two times now and still no luck.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Did you get a procedural fairness letter/ban for misrepresentation. If not you were very lucky. Can’t comment because don’t know your profile.
No, I did not get that, but I will have to double-check. I just completely misunderstood.
Here was a copy/paste of the letter I wrote them back when I re-applied.

This letter is in reference to the re-application of my student visa. My previous
application was refused on the following grounds below, which I have respectfully
answered in this application.
Please allow me to address the reason that was stated in the correspondence letter,
received March 31, 2020, which is as follows:
1. I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions in the documents
you have submitted in support of your application, as required by subsection 16(1) of
the IRPA. Specifically, I am not satisfied that the following information is truthful:
Question 2(b): Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered
to leave Canada or any other country?
CLARIFICATION:
Visitor Visa applied in 2017.
In the summer of 2017, I applied for a visitor visa to Canada during my school break that year.
My purpose was to visit my friend in Canada and to travel and see some of the country,
as I was already at that time considering Canada for studying my Masters of
Bio-Chemical Engineering after graduating from my university here in my home country
of Thailand. The visa process took longer than I had expected. I received a letter about 3
weeks after applying to say I was refused and highlighting the reasons why. At that
time, I made a decision to not pursue the visa anymore because by the time I applied
again and supplied any additional documents and received an answer again, my school
break would have been finished already, and I would have not had the time left to travel
to Canada, so I did not complete the application again.
I feel I misunderstood what was written with English not being my native language. When I was asked on
the current application, if I was refused a visitor visa, I answered no, because I thought at that time
it just meant I needed to supply more documents and give more explanation. However, I was not aware that
it would be considered a complete refusal.
I would request you to kindly reconsider my study permit application and grant me the approval,
so I can pursue my higher education studies in Canada.
All the details I have written, and all the documents attached with my applications are true and correct.
For any further clarification, please feel free to contact me, and I would be happy to address your concerns.

Looks to me that you got a procedural fairness letter. Paste the full letter of Refusal from IRCC. Are you sure you didn't get a ban for misrepresentation?

I do not think I received a procedural fairness letter by what they wrote, so I applied the second time and they refused me again, but not for the same reason, but for several other things. I will paste that letter now, as it is the last time I applied. I will be applying again soon and I really want to make it this time.
