Can inland PR with expired COPR letter enter Canada via private vehicle?

I became PR inland recently, though I am still waiting for my PR card (likely 3 or 4 months later), I have the eCOPR letter in hand.

The eCOPR letter is valid till mid-August, but some say that date is just for landing purposes, since I have completed my virtual landing via the confirmation portal and I am officialy a PR already, I assume that if I traveled to the US, I can drive back via private vehicle with my passport and eCOPR with the 'expired' date.

Please correct me or share your related experiences. Thank you in advance!

Theoretically, if you were in Canada when you used the confirmation portal. Don't expect it to be an easy process though - the CBSA officer may have 0 issues at all, or may send you to secondary for some time.

Thank you for your insight. Could you expand a little bit on 'send you to secondary for some time' since I am new and less familiar about the whole thing yet? I assume it could take them some time and some extra officers to figure out my PR status, but they will have to let me in right?

If they can verify your PR status, yes, they have to let you in. How they verify that PR status may not be fast, may involve a lot of questioning, etc. Or it may be quick.

Also - just so you know, most people are not experiencing "3-4 months" wait for their PR cards. Some people are, certainly, but for many it is roughly one month upon landing and uploading of photos/mailing photos, depending on instructions to the new PR.

Thank you for your insights, we live in Toronto and assume our Cards are processed and made in Etobicoke office, seems like the longest delays were all happening here. There was no specific office name on our eCOPR letter, so I am not very sure which office will be handling it.
