I had my interview yesterday - the officer informed me that the oath email would come in 4-6 weeks. My tracker has been updated with all steps complete (apart from the citizenship ceremony)

Holy cow. I just checked status of my wife's application. The new tracking system doesn't show anything new but saw some movement on ECAS.
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on September 10, 2019.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on November 30, 2019.
  3. We started processing your application on June 25, 2021.
Still a looooong way to go :(

That's a long time to have just gone to in progress. What office will process the application if you don't mind me asking?

This is bizarre!! WTH, application going to "In Progress" after almost 2 years after submission. This is really bad - Its like the application was 'lost' somehow and just now they 're-discovered' it and are processing it now.

Man, I hope this application is processed with priority and you see some updates sooner than later.

We are based in Calgary. Not sure if the file comes from Sydney to Calgary directly or if there is any intermediate office as well.

Thanks bud. Yeah, it had been brutal. Just hoping it gets over soon. Tried IRCC phone many times during the last 1 year but they were always like "every file is different, we cannot give you a firm date because of COVID". It has been little rough to put it mildly!

Most of Sept-2019 are getting test (or) oath invites already. I think they will speed it up since it is already delayed a lot. I hope you will get all steps done in next 1-2 months. All the best.

I can't even begin to understand the agony. After a couple of months, order GCMS notes (order it from CBSA and not from IRCC) - you'll get the same set of GCMS notes but with less redactions.

When you are ordering notes from CBSA, specify in great detail what it is you are looking for. Wording the request something like shown below will yield good results :

"Please provide all information pertaining to my Citizenship grant application including but not limited to GCMS notes, electronic case notes of the officers, status updates, details about background checks and any and all other information that is related to the aforementioned application".

Make sure you provide your wife's UCI AND application number when making the request.

I sincerely hope her application is processed with priority. All the very best!

I phoned the IRRC service line today as I was seeking some clarification regarding the status shown for my application. I received GMCS notes back in November 2020 and today the agent pretty much confirmed what I thought is shown in the GMCS notes which is that I was scheduled for interview beginning of April 2020 before everything got cancelled. The agent said there is nothing else around my file and I just have to wait for my turn to get invited again.
