Bridge Work Permit - Open/Closed?

I am on closed work permit, which is expiring in Nov. I have applied for PR and have received AOR. My workplace will apply for Bridge Work Permit. In my research I came across only the Bridge Open Work Permit, i.e. that work permit will no longer be restricted to this employer. Is that correct? or is there also a closed bridge work permit. - You are the one that needs to apply for the BOWP. Not your employer
- A BOWP is an open work permit with no employer restrictions.
- Note that it's too early to apply for a BOWP now. You have to wait until your closed work permit is expiring within 4 months.

Haven’t got my COPR, stuck in background check is taking forever

I meant you have been waiting for a year already? do you know why does it take so long on your application? did you call? do you have many travels to some countries on history? It could make the background checks harder in some countries which does not have good relationship with Canada.

so aware about the delays. But, how long it’s going to take. I’m not blaming any one. Just an answer!
