My medical passed on April 9, 2021. Still no more updates

I submitted on April 6, biometrics April 20. My eligibility review hasn’t started yet either.

I see, I don't know why it's taking so long even in non-pandemic-stricken countries!

yup study permit. from what i see passing medicals (in your case) or getting the medical request (in my sisters case whenever that happens) is a good sign.
if you look here for temp visas (including study), med check comes after or right around eligibility https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=022&top=4

But what if

not me but my sister. she applied may 5, gave biometrics may14. no further updates. medical not yet requested (mexico visa office). our only consolation is that rejections usually come faster lol

How much faster? I applied on 16th may,,medical submitted on 2nd june and biometrics given on 8th june? SDS Pakistan..Masters course..age 38 years

not sure how much faster and varies by visa office. in our case (mexico visa office) they seem to send rejections within one month from what ive seen

Applied via South Africa on 12 may, biometric completed on may 14, medical passed on 19 may but review of eligibility hasn't started. Please keep me updated.
