Refugee status and home country's consulate/embassy

So I asked around (several lawyers and the CIC) if there would be any risk to my status as a refugee if I were to go to my home country's consulate or embassy for certain paperwork. The answer I got is that it's not likely depending on why I'm going there. But does anyone here have any experience with this or went to their country's consulate/embassy in Canada without issues or risk to their status?

All of my family passed away and the house and everything I own by right of heir there has to be sold or the government will seize it. I cannot go myself since I'm refugee and there's no way I wanna go back there. So I need a power of attorney so someone else can do it for me from there. The issue is the only way to get a POA for my country is to request one at the consulate/embassy and have them write/send it for you. There is absolutely no other way and a regular POA from Canada is not recognized there.

Would this cause any issues with my status?

Just do add, despite asking the CIC and them saying it's ok if I need to go there for reasons other than travelling back/renewing a passport, it's been hard for me to fully trust what CIC agents say as I received wrong information in the past that cost me my previous status here.
