Tourist VISA to STUDENT Visa

Hello Everyone,

I want to know if anybody has applied for their Student Visa from within Canada (nationality Indian) while they were visiting Canada on a tourist visa.My brother just completed his high school in India, and is planning to study abroad, I want him to come here and explore his options in Canada for universities, and colleges. However, I want to know if anybody has had any difficulty in doing so.

I have not filed his tourist visa yet, and thats why I want to know if this is a possibility, and can be achieved or not?

He can apply for his study permit after getting accepted to Canadian school. It is processed from India not from within Canada. He has to show strong ties to India as well as career opportunities. He may have issues gettting a visitor visa (other than long processing times) as he has not strong ties to his home, show his own funds and reasons to return home.

He has a better chance of securing a study permit if he is living in India.
