This is becoming increasingly common in the past couple of weeks. Applicants who were scheduled for an interview are getting calls from officers and are being told they do not need to attend the interview.Hi,
I was scheduled for an online interview on Monday but I got a call from the immigration officer today asking if I can do the interview right now. I reluctantly agreed even though I was skeptical about the authenticity of the caller. However, she knew so much about my case that I relaxed as the interview proceeded. In the end, she said I don't need to attend the interview on Monday anymore and I should check my tracker next week to get an update on my case.
I am wondering if this is normal. Do CIC officers call before a scheduled interview?
Anyway, here is my timeline.
