Yes they all received their TRV, which is what is weird - they even got their passports all back. But my brother did not receive the written authorization.
Did you fill out the request for special authorization just for him? He should have his own request.

Yes I did. When I applied and also when we received the TRV and saw we didn’t get the letter from them, we send a request again.
Wouldn't send repeat applications because that usually results in more confusion and problems. Assume there are concerns about whether your brother's travels are really essential. How long did they as to stay and when is your due date? What about his schooling? There is a large age gap, are there any other children? Is it your full brother?

Well, my parents can’t really leave him behind now alone! Also the documentation we sent is clear that he is my own brother. And since my parents are working they wouldn’t be here for more than a month, they are planning the visit for September since that is when I am due. This was all made clear once again in the application. We haven’t booked tickets yet because of this. As for his schooling, he has online classes so he really wouldn’t be missing anything and again he is only 9 and it’s only a month. That is a point we used in his visa application and not for the authorization. But I think the point that he can’t stay alone without my parents carries precedence so that is what I highlighted.
Yeah, like you and Natugurl said I will not send any more requests and hope for the best! But, I’m just concerned as well, we can’t make steady plans for them to come, and I really need them here for that crucial time!

What is your status in Canada?

Your mother may need to travel on her own. She will need to quarantine away from you either in a basement if you have a separate basement with a bathroom or in an airbnb/hotel.

Well technically, according to their own rules - he is considered extended family who is coming for a period longer than 15 days, which is also why he got the visa in the first place. But I understand what you’re saying, I know worst case scenario my mom can travel and yes we have a quarantine plan in place as we had to submit that in the visa application itself so that’s all fine. Yeah it sucks that they would have to be away from me for 14 days before I can see them but what can be done right it’s the way things are because of covid and because my parents are working professionals. Either ways I just find it weird that they processed my brothers application the way they did for my parents and they didn’t respond with the authorization is all. I mean they didn’t say no but neither did they say yes. Here’s hoping for the best!

Oh and I’m a permanent resident! Sorry forgot to mention that. That’s also why their visas were processed so soon I believe.

i can understand your frustration. sorry you are going through this. why not call IRCC on Monday so someone can at least check what's going on with the authorization and you can ask if indeed your brother needs it. keep us updated. sending you hugs!

IRCC customer service won’t be able to see what is going on with the authorization. You can ask your MP to follow-up on whether your brother has been granted authorization.

Just email or should I call the local MP you mean? Also, I’m not quite sure what exactly to say, just basically, - how I’m a permanent resident, currently pregnant and I am trying to get my parents and brother here for purposes of assisting me and although all of them received their visas, my brother hasn’t received his authorization letter so I would be grateful if you could help me by following up with the IRCC on my behalf?
That sound good or anything else? Thanks again @canuck78 and @Naturgrl for all your consistent replies!

Email or call your MP. Ask the staff if they can follow up on your file and explain the situation.

I would suggest sending an email with an explanation of your case, how long your parents and brother would like to come to Canada and the fact that you haven’t heard anything about your brothers application for travel authorization yet your parents have been approved. I would ask them if they could find out what is going on with the travel authorization request for your brother.

Hey Guys! Just wanted to give you all an update for my brother’s situation!
he just got the written authorization via email this morning- June 30th! So he will be able to travel with my parents fortunately. And as per what I have seen, they responded to the latest request I had send them - June 17th -and just for everyone’s knowledge - I did mention in the resubmitted request I had made that we had previously send a request andthere wasn’t a response and we are resending this in order to update the travel dates (as they wanted to travel earlier to be with me).
I did not contact my local MP for an update, I was planning to wait the 14 business days before I did but we got the approval before that! Thank you @Naturgrl and @canuck78 for all your inputs! I hope this post helps someone and gives them hope!
