I have a query, last September 2020, I filed Canada tourist visa online at CIC website along with my mom but then in india lockdown announced.cic generated my UCI number and issued the biometric letter to both of us but still no biometric done because of lockdown and status showing “In progress “

Now I have decided to go for higher study and cleared IELTS exam so wanted to go for study visa so I need to know should I have to mention about my tourist visa file in SOP or not ( just to add I have already withdrawn my tourist visa application)

I have already sent email to New Delhi visa office to widraw application and awaiting their response to get confirmation of withdrawal.

You don't need to include this in your SOP.

Just something to note: Even if you withdraw, you should still answer "Yes" to the question about previously applying to enter Canada, because you have (you received a UCI number etc). In the box you can then explain that you put in a tourist visa which you later withdrew before a decision was made.

As @wonderbly mentioned, tick yes and explain you withdrew your application before final determination. UCI that i suppose will not change, was created already

They have all the documents that you upload, you might want to mention the generated UCI if handy else detail the reason as to why you withdrew your file.

If you are using the same UCI in your new application, then just mention the application number from your previous application.

They most certainly have all your documents. Your UCI number proves that your application and any accompanying documents got into their system. I'm not quite sure what you are worried about though? There's nothing wrong in withdrawing an application and making a different one - unless you submitted documentation/info that might work against your SP application?
