I think EP stands for Economic Program. Express Entry application number starts with EE. The X in front of the temporary file number will be removed once you will get the AOR and you will be able to link your application.It’s temporary file number start with EP
You can check it by calling IRCC, the only answer you will get is that “We can confirm that your application was received on AR date”.Can we check the application status using temporary file number? I am aware that we cannot link the application online using the TFN

Yes you can submit upfront medical using your temporary file number via webform. I have submitted my Biometric fees receipt using my temporary file number and they confirmed it that they attached it with my application.I did upfront medical. When you get your AOR it will have your Application Number, that number starts with EP. If you call IRCC to ask for temporary file number (because you haven’t received AOR), and your application is already in their system, then they will give you your EP######## number with an X at the beginning XEP########.Could you let me know what is EP? I am also awaiting AOR, my AT was in December 2020. Completed 6 months now .. don't know what to do.. have no clarity
