I think you need to get permission letter but I don't know the exact procedure. its better if you can speak to police head quarters. I just called and clarified before booking the appointment.
I did Medical in Asiri Surgical and I live in colombo so I didn't face any issue while travelling. In your case, you may have to travel between provinces so it's better to check with them. Moreover, you have to inform the Canadian embassy about the delay. I think you should mail them today or at least by tomorrow.
I send an e mail to IRCC already to extend the dead line.
You are very helpful.
Thanks.

Hi, you can apply online. I believe you can renew but they don't change the time frame in your original Police certificate ( which means everything else remains the same except the date of issue) if you haven't stayed in SL during the period then you can go with this option.

If not you can apply for the new one online with new time frame but if you are from Jaffna, then you need to get the documents signed again by your GS and redo all other procedure.
If you are from Colombo, I think requesting new one through online would be straight forward (just that police will visit your place where you lived) .

This what i know. I also tried to renew mine about an year ago but without change in timeframe, Canadian embassy won't accept as they want it till date. Since they change the policies often, it's always better to call police head quarters in Colombo and get it clarified. They are very helpful and will tell you exactly what need to be done.

Application for Clearance Certificate (police.lk)
Telephone :- 011-2439185 / 011-2421111
Thanks

If that's the case, renewing your PCC would be a good option. I believe you have to apply online bcos they don't accept the paper application after Covid.

Hi @Thabe, I got to know that one of my friend travelled to Jaffna from Colombo this week for his brother's wedding so you should also speak to your nearest police station and get pass to travel by showing your IRCC medical letter to them. I think, trying is better than waiting and we never know when they will remove the travel restriction.

I think, first you need to apply online, then you will a get call from your area police station & they will handover two form (one for JP and other one for GS), you need to fill that and get it signed by them. I believe all this can be done in a day depending on your GS availability.
PCC will be mailed ( just mail ) to you. it normally takes around 14 - 20 days to arrive but since its renewal might come even before that.

This what I did but I took PCC almost a year back so sometimes they would have changed the process.

you need take 2 passport size photo, 2 copies of passport and IMM1017 form with you.
I read that it depends on the doctor's office, If they have
e medical system then no need to take photograph. Its better to
talk to your doctor's office.
Are you living closer to Colombo?
Once travel ban lifted, I will do the medical.
My dead line passed already.

I did e-medical at Asiri Surgical last week and they asked me to bring 2 photo. If you have doubt, its always better to check with the hospital.
I suggest you to go Asiri surgical ( Dr Dilini Natasha Peris - She sends the results quickly than other doctors) because IMOH sometimes delay sending the results to Delhi office and this happened to one of my friend.
I did Medical on 8th Jun and received medical passed notification on Jun 12.

Send email to Colombo office explaining your situation and also don't forget to attach the scanned copy of your e-medical form.

mail id - colombo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

Can raise query through webform as well.
