Hi,

I'm filling my Express Entry profile and have a few questions, work history related.

My primary occupation is NOC 2173 or (Software Enginners and Designers) or 2174 (Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers).

1) Most of my job letters say the following:

Should I go for 2173 or 2174? I'm more inclined to go with 2174 but theirs duties are very similar.

2) It is not clear for me which date should I put on the "Date XXX first became qualified to practice in this occupation".

Most of my job experience is before I graduated. However, I was almost certain that Canada do accept workers with job experience before their graduation (or even without college, if they have enough points). Therefore, I have job experience back to Jan/2010 but I graduated on Dec/2017 and my diploma was issued at Jan/2018.

Which date should I fill in?

3)
At the "Work History" tab, should I only fill the jobs I want to count as points for immigration or ALL jobs?

There are a few jobs which I do not have enough documents and I won't use them as points as I have more 3 years of work experience. I understood that will be a place where I should fill these jobs regardless of them counting as points after the ITA.

4) Job Title should be filled as the original language (portuguese), or as it appears in the official translation?

5) Employer/company name should be filled as the original language (portuguese)? I think company names are not translated.

6) Uploading documents will be after the ITA right? Should I put together (same pdf) the employment letter AND the payslips or termination letter for those jobs I don't have the pays stated on the letter?

Sorry for the long list, but I waited and gathered all questions to avoid creating a lot of threads.

Thank you.

1. NOC chosen should match your Job duties and responsibilities. It doesn’t matter if your job title is not included in the list under the NOC you chose.

2. NOC states Educational minimum requirements (e.g, bachelors degree, trade certificate). If it’s a bachelors degree, then it’s the Month/ year you graduated.

3. work history -only out here the work experience your claiming points for. The rest would go to personal history (this section will open once you get ITA)

4/5. Not entirely sure but documents should be either be in English / French (Canada’s official language). I’m assuming you’d probably have the English translation of your job title — you should use this. As for The company, you could probably use the Portuguese one. But then, I am not entirely sure, you could check IRCC website for guidance on documents requiring translation.

6. Documents will be uploaded after ITA. There would be one placeholder for each work experience you’re claiming points for. So supporting documents for one work experience should be merged to one document. Ideally, you’d only need to upload the reference letter as all required details should be there. There are some additional requirements if your claiming Canadian work experience (t4 slips, income tax returns). Some applicants also attach payslips, offer letters, resignation letters, some don’t, it boils down to providing Info to convince the officer assessing your PR application. So up to you if you want to add those. The IRCC website has guidance on what work experience documents to add.

the document placeholders have question mark buttons beside them which would give you info on what to upload.

Submit the job title as on the official translation, i'm assuming the title in the translation is accurate.

Submit the name of the company in the original Portuguese, or if they have a translated name they use on their official documents, you can use that.

I would submit only your work reference letters, unless it does not state the date which you left (the provide supporting documents for that), or your customised document checklist requires any additional documents, then provide those as well.

Keep your application simple.
