if you have no webcam or computer setup, you will have to take the test in person, whenever they resume, if you are not exempted due to age

Has anyone emailed to postpone their online test? I need to leave the country for 6 months (UK immigration thing) and obviously have no idea when I'll get invited to take the test..

For those who already took the online citizenship test and passed, how long does it take for "Citizenship test" status to be updated as "Completed"/"Passed"
on your Online Application Status?

If it gets updated as completed, does it mean that our results are now official? Or can they still ask us to re-take the test?

Honestly I do not know however it feels very odd that they will go back and change the official status once updated as 'completed' and for the very reason that this duration is different for different candidates, that suggests that it's a manual update. That probably means that they check the photos and only when satisfactory then mark the status as 'Completed'. But again these are just my common sense/assumption.

Hi. I got test invitation today. I am confused about instructions . It shows test start date as 2021-05-31 and test end date is 2021-06-20.
Does that mean I can take test any date between those two dates? Do I need to register for it .

Yes - it means that you can take the test anytime between 31-May and 20-Jun. No registration required - you will follow the steps and a link will be sent to your mail id which is valid for 15 mins. The link will take you to the test page where you can take the test.

Yeah, I have the same worry. I could not get it in focus unless it was too far to actually read the text on it. To make it even more annoying, it was reflecting the computer screen on it. I tried turning the lights up and down and could never get it 100% clean. You can read the card text, but was definitely a bit blurry. So, I’m hoping that they are giving a bit of leeway on this as long as they can see the picture. They do have the scans from passports and any other picture ID that was jncluded with the application. That might be enough if they can clearly see that you match the photos you sent in as well as the picture on the ID. That would actually be more of a security check then a card a person is physically holding.
I think there are a lot of bugs like this that need to be worked out. Another one is the signature on the ID. The PR cards don’t have them, but they did say on twitter it was fine, but they really need to update this on the website and the email they send for the test.

For the people who took the test I noticed when I took the pr card photo it’s a bit blurry and I’m worried the office won’t be able to verify the details on my card. I even bought the latest the webcam. Would that trigger an interview? Thanks everyone.

I did once after receiving the test invite. The instruction are in email, what to do if you are unable to give the test. I just sent an email(provide in invite email) that I am currently not in Canada and will be back in 2 months. and IRCC sent me another invitation after two months when I was back in Canada
Do not try to do the test outside of Canada. IRCC/CBSA have records when you enter or exit Canada.

Do you need to put you uci and application id with your name at the top of the message when you send it or at the bottom of the email? Also, just email them at the email they provided you with the invitation or need to fill Webform too?

Thank you for inviting me to take the online exam. However, according to Note 3 in the invitation letter, I cannot complete the test.



Due to Covid-19 and expecting that the application processing may be delayed, I went to xxxxcountry and am currently traveling in xxxxcountry until the last week of April 2021. I will return to Canada in the last week of April 2021.



If I am eligible to take the exam under special circumstances in xxxxcountry, please let me know or postpone the exam after April 2021.
