I mean whether you submit an excuse letter or not, there is no need to be worry. Some people submitted and they got their work permit and some people did not submit yet they got their work permit. There is no specific rule. I have submitted and described in the letter that I was not aware of this. And, I got my work permit.
I can understand your feeling now. But, if all of your submitted documents are in line with their regulation except for your ignorance, do not be worry they will not deport you. They are nice and understand us.
I understand now, the only problem is in the imm57 form I mentioned in my employment history that I was working as an accountant from June 1 but did not mention it in "unauthorized work section" that I worked with no authorization between 1-20 June, which is why I don't want to write a letter just to confuse them.

do you know any more guys who are in the same situation as me and got their pgwp approved?
Thanks alot for your help.

Yes, the same as me. I did not describe in my form too. However, I submitted a letter and described everything point by point and let them know it was Unintentional. However, its your choice to submit a letter or not, I cannot give any advice on that part.
I know other friends of mine got their work permit.

I just

found out that if your work if unauthorized only because you worked beyond when you’re supposed to then you can still receive your work permit. If it’s for multiple reason then you won’t unless 6 months have passed. I think you will be fine
did you got your pgwp?

I am in the same situation as you are in. I applied on June 25th and I started working full time from the period between May 1st until June 25th. So practically, I did unauthorized work and I have violated the visa condition. In my case, I hired a lawyer to write a letter for me and stated my mistake. Honestly, this decision is up to you. You can either be honest or just hope that the officer overlooks it. In my case, I chose the honest option because there is a possibility for misrepresentation if you have indicated "no" for unauthorized work in your application.

I also think that flagpolling is a bad idea. On this forum, most people who are rejected from unauthorized work are from flagpolling. Most people who were approved even after their unauthorized work is through online app.

I am still waiting my decision. But it's entirely your decision to disclose your mistake or not.
Hi there, I'm in the same position. do you think I should get a lawyer to write the letter or can I do it by myself? Also, what exactly did you write? Thanks

Hi,
I was following this thread couple months ago because of a similar situation I was in.. I wrote a letter of explanation myself and it turned out OK. It’s your decision in the end to write it by yourself or to get a lawyer but I would say that it does not require a lot of legal knowledge to write the letter. What I wrote is 1) the period that I did unauthorized work; 2) why it happened; 3) what I did to fix the situation. Again it’s really up to you to decide who to write the letter but personally speaking I do not think you need a lawyer unless you are not sure what and how to write it at all. Good luck :)

Hi. thank you for the reply. Did you end up hearing from them?

Also, I'm just having difficulty writing this. How long should it be?

I pretty much worked for three months after graduation and before I applied for PGWP. That's a LONG time. I'm still within 180 days, but I don't know if they will overlook that.

greetings everyone !!!

I have a couple of questions, all advice is appreciated

I have completed my masters in December 2019 and stopped working my part-time job in December 2019 and went to India in January for vacation. due to covid and shut down of universities my unofficial transcripts came on march 15 2020 and course completion letter came on 18 April 2020 in my email.

1: my 90 days of applying post-graduate work permit start from April 18, 2020? or march 15 2020, or my last day of the university which is December 31, 2019?

I applied for my work permit on June 18 2020 from India, inside Canada application and came to Canada on 21 June 2020

2: can I work full time while I am in applied status for my pgwp?

3: do I have to apply for a status restoration application?

4: is there any chance my PGWP will get rejected?

all advice will be appreciated, thank you evveryone

I didn't apply for PR but I got a PNP nomination. I did disclose the unauthorized work I did. If it's just a few weeks it shouldn't be an issue.

Hello,
I see you have chosen to explain your condition honestly to the officer by providing an explanation letter. I am in the same situation, thinking that it will save me if I explained to them at hand. Is your PGWP approved?

Yes, my pgwp has been approved and I’m in the process of waiting for my PR now. As long as you come straight forward with your mistake and write an LOE, the chance are they will overlook this mistake. As for myself and others this is a very common mistake and as long as you are honest you should be alright. I haven’t seen anyone who got rejected as of yet when they wrote this on their LOE.

I did see people getting rejected because they tried to flag-poling and ended up getting caught about working unauthorized without intention.

Hello, I am having the same problem. Do you mind updating if your PGWP has been approved with the Letter of explanation you provided?

Hello,
I will be applying for CEC PR too, and I was wondering if I should disclose my case of un authorised work? I didn’t disclose it while applying for my pgwp and got it anyway, so you think I should disclose it now ?
please let me know!

I cannot give you a legal advice on what you should do but I have seen many ppl who disclosed during their PR app got their applications approved. Honestly, you can just write a LOE explaining the reason behind ur unauthorized work and usually the officer over looks this issue. Since you have been working legally and there has been no red flags since, they are likely going approve.
