Hello, does anyone have an idea as to what's going on currently with the applications? I applied for the study permit on 26th march 2021(Non-SDS), gave my biometrics on 31st March 2021. I then received a medical update on 6th may 2021 followed by a correspondence letter on 7th May, which contains information regarding my biometric validity i.e for the next 10 years. I applied for may intake, currently, I'm taking up online classes for the course while awaiting a final decision. I don't know what's really happening since most of the news articles that I've read claim that students who applied before 15th may 2021 will receive their final decision by 7th august 2021(so that they can attend their classes by fall). Every single person that I've known received their passport request on the same day as that of the correspondence letter. Does this mean that my visa might get rejected? I have no clue what's going and it's extremely frustrating, Does anyone here have an idea of what's really going on with my case since I find myself in the middle of taking classes online for may intake and, having to wait along with fall semester students for the final decision.
The current processing time for study permit is 8 weeks.
However, since you applied on 26 March, I believe the processing time was "12 weeks" during that time. Please wait for at least 12 weeks to get your decision.

Nobody here can tell you exactly when you're going to get the final decision. To be very honest, every person has a different timeline as each application is unique and is processed by a different Visa Officer. Some people get their visa decision within two weeks, while others get it in 6 months. Some people receive BVL & PPR on the same day, others receive BVL & rejection on the same day. Some receive BVL prior to PPR/REFUSAL. YOU NEVER KNOW.

The best thing to do is to wait patiently and hope for the best. I know it's not easy to do so but that's the best we can do. I know this person who received his PPR although his background check and medical status hasn't been updated yet. IRCC is very unpredictable. All you can do is wait. The best you can do is to try to indulge in activities so you can be distracted from thinking about the visa decision 24/7. I know it's very stressful, I understand you mate. But let's just wait patiently. SABR KA PHAL MEETA HOUTA HAI

Brohh..
applied from India on March 1st
SDS with dependents for May intake
Our biometric and medical all passed before March 23
After that no update..
now waiting for VAC to open in India.
I have read so many threads in this forum and what understand is none got PPR in India after May 12 ( from what I read) except rejections.
We need to wait till vfs to open up until then they are not giving any PPR
:(
