COPR: Jan 21, 2021
Photo mailed on: Jan 24, 2021. No idea if it was delivered (I guess it's my fault, sent via regular mail, should have sent with tracking)
Application linked, status "submitted", no GU
Called IRCC last Thursday, they said that they can't see any notes on my file. Said that most likely they just didn't get to my photo yet...
They advised that I can mail another photo just in case.

Are there still people who sent their photo in January and still haven't received it?

By the way, for people who cannot get through to IRCC - try calling at 8 am. I called at around 8:30 am and my wait time was 10 minutes.
I read in this thread that there was some CoViD outbreak at CanadaPost Mississauga facility so the XpressPost mails delivered in more than 10 days.

As you sent via regular mail, there is probability of getting it delayed, may be near to the 1st week of Feb, because XpressPost were delivered on Feb 2nd.

Hi guys,
I have submitted my photos via the confirmation portal on May 18 and unfortunately I’m not able to link my pr card application to my cic account for some reason.

today i logged into my cic account and saw a GU went from updated and back to approved.
My application in the portal did not change...

any idea what the GU is about ? PR card approved ?

thank you for your help

What was the previous state of your PR application? was it under approved stage earlier as well, I mean before GU?

yes it has been approved on May 14 and I have already received my COPR and change my SIN etc ...

That’s why I don’t know what the GU is about...

How many days took to receive it ?? U uploaded client copy or ircc copy
I have not received the updated SIN yet but I called today and they said it was in the mail on its way to me. I submitted documents on the 20th. Also don’t complicate this, upload your COPR for proof of status, does not matter whether COPR is emailed, stamped or whatever. Once document is from IRCC you are fine.

Curious to know, What is process flow if someone doesn't want to go for Citizenship application after 5 year?

Whether they can renew PR card and that's it? or the same eAPR process will happen again?
They renew the PR card when they need a PR card. Otherwise they live their life. PR card can expire without any problems (obviously can't travel etc). Their renewal process is way simpler than eAPR, which usually includes checking if the person has met their residency obligation.
I know some Chinese nationals at work who do this because if they get Canadian citizenship they lose their own Citizenship. So they stay PR.

ok thank you @legalfalcon

and what about the GU I for today ? What do you think it means ? Pr card approved ?
No one can predict what causes GU. All we know is that it indicates a movement, but what exactly, for that you will have to call IRCC, or send a webform
