Hi Everyone - My eligibility period for Citizenship is between June 2016 and June 2021.

My current passport was applied in August 2015 and is valid till 2025.

I had an old passport with validity from 2012 to 2017 but since I applied for a new passport in 2015 before applying for my Work Permit, it would have been deemed invalid after 2015 I am assuming.

For Citizenship application in following question where it asks for all valid travel documents during 5 year period, shall I add details of both passports or just one passport.

Also I cannot seem to locate my older passport, even though I have a valid scanned copy of it.

btw when I got the new passport my old passport was stamped with text that a new passport has been issued in lieu of older passport which I believe should make my older passport invalid even though the official expiry was till 2017. I have a color copy of old passport with stamp clear as well

If your old passport was valid even for one day during your eligibility period, you should add the details of both passports. Otherwise, just include your current passport.

It was valid in terms of validity date mentioned on it, but since I applied for a new passport my old passport was marked as invalid / cannot be used even though the expiry date was in the future.

Since you cannot have two valid passports at the same time, both having overlapping dates. I had to use the new passport for travel the date new passport was issued

No, that's not what I meant.

My old passport was valid from 2009 to 2019. However, in March 2015, my old passport was "Cancelled" and I got my new passport in April 2015. So, when I submitted my citizenship application in late August 2020, I did NOT declare my old passport because my eligibility period was from August 2015 to August 2020. The reason was because my old passport was cancelled before my eligibility period started.

I hope you understand what I'm saying now. If your situation appears to be similar to mine I described above, you don't have to submit the details of your old passport. Otherwise, you should.

If, for example, my old passport were "Cancelled" in September 2015 instead of March 2015, then I would have submitted the details of the old passport as well as my old passport would have been valid for about a month during my eligibility period.

Thanks a lot, I am in exactly the same situation as you. My old passport got cancelled a year before my eligibility period starts even though the actual expiry date did not reach.
