Hi everyone,
According to this page, we have to let IRCC know if we intend to leave Canada for more than 2 weeks during the Citizenship application period:
You can leave Canada after we receive your application as long as you:
I had to leave Canada for a few months bit due to a family affair, but I'll be returning (permanently) once IRCC calls me for the test. I spoke with a call center rep who basically said that IRCC won't schedule you for a test if you're overseas for an extended amount of time, and that they'll only do so once you tell them you're back.
My question is, can anyone verify if this is true? Do we really need to tell IRCC if we're overseas while our application is in process, and will they actually freeze your application until you're back?

You can leave Canada after we receive your application as long as you:
- keep your permanent resident (PR) status
- can receive any letter mail, parcels and emails we send you after you submit your application
- can reply to our letters and emails within the specified time, usually within 30 days
- are available in person in Canada to attend your citizenship test (if you’re between 18 and 54 years of age), interview, and ceremony
