Will IRCC continue to process spousal application while biometrics cannot be supplied?

So all the Canadian VACs in India have closed since May 3, 2021 and they aren't taking any appointments. Very disappointing as I applied under the outland India spousal sponsorship for my wife this month. My wife hasn't yet received a request to provide biometrics though, but I'm guessing that request will come through next month.

I'm curious, will IRCC continue to process the application while the biometrics aren't supplied? Or will my application be fully paused until the VACs open? Anyone else in the same boat? Feeling kinda down

Don’t think anyone knows. If you only applied this month you are unlikely to get AOR for at least a few months.

They will continue to process the app, they know biometrics collection is paused in India. It might eventually cause delays but they can continue with parts of app in parallel in the meantime.

Don’t think we actually know this and applications could be on hold. Processing in general is also affected by covid in India.

Armoured is correct - they kept processing without biometrics last year when they were closed.

Point is they should not be held up because of biiometrics at this stage.
