I personally know several students that got their permits by using Duo Lingo, Immigration doesn't request a specific test for study permits only for residence permits. i just want to get peoples experience with Duo Lingo and if you know any one that was rejectedDuo Lingo is not accepted for study permit application. The only acceptable test is IELTS (General/Academic).
No, IRCC is very clear about acceptable tests even for study permits. It's all over their twitter handle.I personally know several students that got their permits by using Duo Lingo, Immigration doesn't request a specific test for study permits only for residence permits. i just want to get peoples experience with Duo Lingo and if you know any one that was rejected
This is what I also understand, would be interesting to see if any one was rejected using Duo Lingo! Please note that NO language test results are required for Study permit if applying non-SDS.
If your educational institution accepts Duo lingo for their language requirements (as many now do) then you’re fine.
I believe SDS stream DOES require IELTS results, though not sure.
You are right but SDS is limited to specific countries and doesn't impact the mainstream applicantsNo, IRCC is very clear about acceptable tests even for study permits. It's all over their twitter handle.
About these people you know, if they applied non-SDS, IRCC probably just ignores their duolingo test, as it is not required for that stream. However, for SDS where language test is mandatory, your application will be rejected/returned if you apply with Duo Lingo or any other language test besides IELTS.
Yes. The only other stream that has IELTS requirement is the Nigerian Student Express (same as SDS but only for Nigerians). If you are applying through the regular stream, you don't have to provide any english test at all. If you have duolingo, you can attach it. It will not negatively impact your application. Perhaps you can add an LOE indicating why you had to opt for duolingo (IELTS not currently available in your country, you can't get an exam date, etc). You are right but SDS is limited to specific countries and doesn't impact the mainstream applicants
Sir! If one fulfills all the requirements for SDS ... What is the current ratio of getting study Permits? No, IRCC is very clear about acceptable tests even for study permits. It's all over their twitter handle.

Sorry, I don't know. I don't think such stats are available.Sir! If one fulfills all the requirements for SDS ... What is the current ratio of getting study Permits?
The Duolingo test and certificate is widely accepted as proof of language for many American, Canadian and European universities / colleges. However, as far as I know, it is not accepted by immigration authorities of any country (at least not yet). If applying through a non sds application, language certificate is not a requirement and if your university accepts the Duolingo test, then there should be no problem with the study permit (from a proof of language point of view). As far as I know, DuoLingo is just a language learning platform. I think these tests have no value in the world. In general, as for the platform, I like Lingopie more, which I use to learn german watching movies. I tried to learn with a tutor, but I like studying on my own more. I also plan to take some international exam to confirm my level of German, but it will definitely be next year.
