Ah ok that’s not bad at all I was thinking 12 months or a bit more, so maybe less is a bonus. I’m currently getting paperwork together to apply. Thanks for that information :)
It's worth nothing that you should take the 'intent to return to Canada' part seriously - and also continue to gather info / prepare during process (after applying).

There's been a spate of files where visa offices have asked for additional documents showing this later in the process; my impression is that this isn't so much them being more 'strict' per se but now routinely asking for more, updated info later (which you'd still need to provide). (Beyond this I'd be guessing about why this is happening)

I was thinking the same, it’s just a bit difficult to provide a lot of info about returning when the end date is so unknown. I can’t provide travel dates, a lease etc until we know when we can travel. I agree though we need to have information lined up to show we will be residing in Canada. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I’m a little confused on what I need to provide for police checks, firstly I’m my husband’s sponsor so do I need to provide police checks for my application to sponsor him if I’m not in Canada?
Also he has lived here (Australia) his entire life so I know obviously he needs a police check from here. However we did live in the UK from July 2018-2019, does he need to provide a police check from the year we were in the UK? I found one section that says he does if he lived longer then 6 months in another country, in another section of the website it says he needs to provide for the country he has spent most of his life in? Any clarification would be greatly appreciate. Thank you

Hi, UK police certificate is needed. I did my Uni there and I had to provide it before applying for PR. It's a simple process, can be done online.

are you citizen or PR? No, I don't think yours is necessary
I’m a citizen, but have lived in Australia for 12 years and a year in UK as well. Wasn’t sure if I would need the police check just because I haven’t lived in Canada for quite some time.

How much time from the moment you send the application until you hear back from them, on average? Mine was delivered on April 15th, radio silence since then.

Mine was on 12th May, no SA, no BIO or Med. But since we have AOR, sooner or later other updates should follow. Have seen some ppl received updates after 2 months of AOR1. So we can only wait now.
