Hi everyone, first of all thank you for taking the time to read my question/inquiry.
My common law partner's parents are Canadian Citizens, I'm VERY close to them and they are inviting me to visit them in Canada in October for mental and emotional support purposes during a very challenging time for our family (there's proof of that situation being presented to IRCC).

I have gathered all the documents required to prove that I will be visiting and returning to my country as soon as my 40 day vacation is over with. However, I'm extremely concerned for the section of "Proof of Relationship". Problem is I live in a country where same sex marriages or relationships are prohibited. I do have my partner and I's rent/house contract since 2016 proving that we have been living together for the past 6 years. Moreover, I have also attached my partner's family information document certifying that she is their daughter + copy of my in laws passport.

When I clicked on examples of documents for proof of relationship with host, they stated the below points:
  • a marriage certificate
  • Statutory declaration of common-law union (imm5409e)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Official Document naming you as the parent
  • a copy of the inside back cover of the inviter's passport showing the inviter's parents, if applicable
I downloaded the "Statutory declaration of common-law union imm5409e" form, however I can't have it notarized by any official in the Middle East. Any tips on what to do in this situation? Is the rent contract and my mother in law's invitation proof enough that I'm related to the family? Also can I call her my mother in law? What's the correct terminology?

Thank you so much for your time and cooperation, I truly appreciate it .

Can you not ask your host to bring the documents to a notary public and notarized them here in Canada?
