Hello, does anyone have an idea as to what's going on currently with the applications? I applied for the study permit on 26th march 2021(Non-SDS), gave my biometrics on 31st March 2021. I then received a medical update on 6th may 2021 followed by a correspondence letter on 7th May, which contains information regarding my biometric validity i.e for the next 10 years. I applied for may intake, currently, I'm taking up online classes for the course while awaiting a final decision. I don't know what's really happening since most of the news articles that I've read claim that students who applied before 15th may 2021 will receive their final decision by 7th august 2021(so that they can attend their classes by fall). Every single person that I've known received their passport request on the same day as that of the correspondence letter. Does this mean that my visa might get rejected? I have no clue what's going and it's extremely frustrating, Does anyone here have an idea of what's really going on with my case since I find myself in the middle of taking classes online for may intake and, having to wait along with fall semester students for the final decision.

There are a lot of people who received only bvl mainly they received 6th may onwards. When did they start your eligibility? Pte student or 5.5 in one module?

I don't know when my review started, I passed my medical on 6th may, then on 7th I received correspondence letter and that's it. Ever since then it says "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made". I don't know what PTE is but I took an IELTS exam where I scored 7 overall (Reading: 7.5 Writing:6.5 Listening:6.5 Speaking:8). Do you have an idea on why its taking so long? Thanks for your reply.

don;t worry please. i know the frustration. in your head currently you think that you might be rejected as everyone u know got ppr with bvl. let me tell you this yesterday 5 people got refusal letters with bvl. reviving ppr with bvl at the same time doesn't mean it works that way. some applicants got ppr after 1 week of bvl some got after 1 month. a friend of mine got bvl last week he contacted ircc they told him just wait for your passport request :) so please don't panic. it simply means your file is moving from one queue to another .. waiting officer to issue passport request.

Well, this certainly makes me feel better, so just to be sure are the Canadian visa officers currently giving out their final decisions? Can you give me an approximate date when my decision might come out? like I hope it won't take until August 7th as I've read in some online articles?

Then why non sds. Are you Indian citizen?
Yes I am an Indian citizen, I paid 1-year fees to my college and I have a loan for my 2nd year for living expenses and tuition fees. Since it is a loan, the amount will only be released after my visa gets accepted which is why I couldn't pay for GIC.

Thanks brother, Yes I hope we all receive our pprs soon. Good luck and cheers!
you will get your decision soon before august don't worry. people misunderstood that statement from ircc there was no deadline. ircc jsut stated that they will process applications as quickly as possible and provide decisions for people who applied before 15 may by august.. so complex/delayed applications might receive their decisions in late july/early august and other probs by June . you still can apply and they will process it as fast as they can :))
