Currently there are no time frames. Also, there is nothing called as soft landing or hard landing. If you are inland, IRCC will send you a COPR which will be signed and dated. Effective the date on the COPR, you will have a PR status in Canada.

Usually after the application is sent to the VO responsible for issuing the COPR, they can send an email for you to use the PR confirmation portal, or send an email to ask if your re currently in Canada and then issue you a COPR. This can usually takes 3-5 weeks.

@legalfalcon your response was magic, i did received an email from IRCC confirming our location and port of entry etc. Does it mean the next step will be COPR?

Hi @legalfalcon,

I received the GCMS notes today. PFB the screenshots from it which points to the possibility of my application been approved since May 2020. It also says that my COPR was generated. Can you please review and share your thoughts. And if my application is indeed approved since may 2020 then why have they not sent the PPR even after an year?

Your application has been approved, but most applications have been put on hold if you are not exempt from travel restrictions. There are many applicants who have passed all stages and are waiting for a final decision.

If you see the documents issuance, you will see that the document was never printed, which usually happens after the PPR is sent and passport received at the VO.

Yes, you can enter Canada from the USA. On their website, it's clearly mentioned i.e. if you are coming from the USA (including connections) then you can enter Canada with COPR. Be prepared for your 3 days Hotel Quarantine and the next 11 days of Quarantine in rental places like Airbnb. Bro, I would suggest making your entry at the earliest because no one knows if more restrictions imposed. But please come to Canada only completing your quarantine in USA as well. This will help you.
Thanks for the reply. I cannot do anything though since i still don’t have CoPR issued to me. I only know because of the GCMS notes

FST- Inland, AOR November 23 2019.
No updates since January 2020.
Climinality has passed January 2020 on Notes section of GCMS but still in progress after 1 year and 4 months.

Is anyone in the same boat?

That is entirely your choice and you can go and speak to any news outlet.

@legalfalcon hi legalfalcon and everyone else. I am aware of the current situation and all the backlog and priority issues, but I have some other business (applications, arrangements, and so on) depending on this application like many on this forum. In light of that, would it make sense to order GCMS notes at this point from outside Canada in terms of processing times and all? I mean, would they finalize my application when they start issuing PPRs or keep me waiting because I have an ongoing GCMS request? And do they now extend the period in which they are required to respond to GCMS requests? (I heard they did before.)

I thought I could use the official info on my file to handle a few things while waiting, maybe. I must also admit that I am quite curious as to the real status of my application since I did not receive a survey request whatsoever.

BTW AOR is Nov 2019 / Last Update: Remedicals given in Jan 2021.

Sorry for the silly question ;)

Requesting GCMS notes has no influence on your application timeline. In terms of delay in getting them, it is getting better now. Requesting them through CBSA has historically better chances of getting them in time. I personally got them in 5 weeks.
