Good afternoon guys,
I will be re-applying for my study permit next week... my previous application was rejected based on
• purpose of visit
• family ties both in Canada and my home country
• person assets and financial status.
Although I had to apply for GCMS note and it was stated that by the VO that “ taking the applicants plan of study into account, the applicant does not appear to be sufficiently well established that the proposed study would a reasonable expense. Given family ties or economic motives to remain in Canada, the applicant incentives to remain in Canada may outweigh their ties to their home country. The applicant plan of study appear vague and poorly documented, for this reason I’m refusing the application.

for my new applicant....
• i have increased my tuition fee to 20,000CAD for one year
• I will be summiting my land document gifted to my late father
• document of my late father’s landed property
• my business certificate registered under CAC
• my personal statement of Acct for 6months having a balance of 5million
• my uncle’s statement of account since he is my sponsor
• SOP and LOE.... because I did not summit any in my previous application. Thanks

Hi,

I think you have a good profile.

I would advise you to take the IELTS test before applying for your permit.

All the best with your application.

Use IMM5707 if you are doing paper base application from Nigeria. IMM5654 mostly used when applying online. This forms can be used depending on your country, select drop down arrow and choose your country, you’ll get which one to use

Hi Omofar, I was offered admission into st Clair college for September intake so I submitted my application for student permit to IRCC on April 29 did my biometrics on May 6, however st Clair college notified me on May 7 that my offer has been revoked due to the suspension of September intake and I was offered another admission for winter term (January). Do I update my study permit application or wait until a decision is made based on the former resumption date?

Hello, I applied last year November for a study permit and was to go with my 2 young children but was refused based on
* proof of financial and personal asset
* intention of returning back after my study.
I want to ask if it is advisable to appeal since there was sufficient funds in the account and also personal assets to show or its more better to reapply?
Also which GCMS provided will you recommend I use?
Thank you.

You can reapply anytime when you think you can address issues raised on refusal letter, Appealing decision involve all the way to judicial review, that’ll be question of how VO intepreted and applied the law/guidelines. If rule is in your favor, you’ll go through settlement. Takes time and money to pay lawyer in Canada to file for you.

Now because you mentioned about sufficient funds, what do you mean by sufficient? In your situation it is 1 year tuition fee+ $10,000 cost of living (YOU) + 4,000 first family member + 3,000 second accompanying. I did not include your spouse if you have one. In some situation, they may go beyond that and include things like cost accomodation for a family, daycare if minor etc. If you meet that, then you have one concern out of the way, second will be “ intention of returning back after studies”

Thank you Simba112 for responding. I have started the appeal process as advised by my lawyer, But after finding out it takes this long (not from my lawyer, I found out personally), I am thinking of reapplying. Can I reapply at the same time when the appeal process is ongoing. Now that the covid has caused another lockdown, I am not sure when JR will be done. Please I need your experienced advise if I can go ahead and reapply. This time I will be reapplying without my children and leave them with my mum since their father who was my husband died over 3 years ago, hoping that the money that was meant to be used for the three of us would be more than sufficient for one person. The money in bank was like N17m and I had paid for the whole tuition of the school to a tune of $22k, thats why I meant by sufficient funds.

What do you suggest please?

Thank you.

Im not sure if you can have two active applications pending determination, if you reapply and same time appeal through JR. I would ask you to consult your lawyer, but as far as i understand, they may hold JR if you reapply and decision is not met. Minister may argue that applicant had reapplied there is no reasons to proceed with JR while there is reapplication pending decision of the officer. You have two options, to reapply or appeal and im not sure if you can do both at the same time.
On the other side, reapply with recent refusal within a year gives VO little consideration on the new facts and eventually may refuse again ( but not all the time ) but appeal through lawyer you get their attention as lawyers are knowledgeable with the laws. Now, if you strong believe you have addressed all the issues and your circumstances has changed then reapply... sometimes for some reasons, country approval rates trigger some unfair decision, but each applications is treated differently. All the best

I also got this exact refusal message!
Does anyone know how to tackle this?

I ordered Gcms:
The applicant is seeking to study in the College Diploma Program at Conetsoga college in Canada.

I am not Satisfied that the applicant would leave Canada at the end of their stay as a temporary resident,I note that : The client is Single,Mobile, is not well established and has no dependents.

Taking the applicant’s plan of studies into account , the documentation provided in support of the applicant’s financial situation does not demonstrate that funds would be sufficient or available. I am not satisfied thy the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense.

Weighing the factors in the application.I am not satisfied that the applicant will adhere to the term and conditions imposed as a temporary resident.

For the reasons above, I have refused the application.
