Work permit for children under 18

I have a child who is 15 . He wants to to work during this summer. Is he eligible to get a work permit? Anybody has experience with this?

What is your status and his status? If he is on a visitor visa then no. If on a study permit only when he attends post secondary.

We are waiting for NOD so right now his status is an asylum seeker and he does not have a study permit because he is under 18.

update, I applied for my 15-year old son's work permit and his permit has been issued and is valid for 2 years.
