Hello, I Applied for my work permit outside Canada April 1. Received correspondence letter on April 22nd. This is a pgwp application, It says that my eligiblity and background is being checked.

This is a good sign?

Nothing to worry or be excited about the eligibility review continues until they give decision , this is a normal correspondence.

I also received the correspondence letter. It says my temporary resident application is approved. But it doesn't mention anything about my work permit. Will I get another letter stating that I am allowed to work in Canada during my stay?

yes... I applied..IMM5257 form

You will be fine , you will get your WP soon since the original application was for WP and TRV was part of it.

I applied on 17th march, after that gave my bio-metrics and medical exam. on 23rd April got my approval for TRV.

WP not necessarily stapled in the passport , they may mail you the document.

After applying om 17th march, how long did they take to request your medicals? Did you apply from India?

I think thr WP they issue at the Point of Entry in Canada, same as Study Permit

on 26th of March, I got the request for medicals. So, it depends how soon you finish your bio-metrics and all.. they will go step wise.
