why 5 years unlikely? For renewals and for people who have PR already its usually 5 years renewal.
Was under the impression that 2 years was the standard. There also have been changes when it comes to residency requirements, document lengths, etc. due to covid.

Can I get 5years with CoPR ? Do I need guarantor to sign again for renewal? What are the sections that I need other people to sign for me? Has anyone received their RTD recently? How long does the process takes?

Hello there, recently I have submitted with Corp but I only got 2 years RTD. about the RTD application, you are going to do the same process how you did it before. guarantor, 2 friends info, all things again repeating,
but as offices are closed you if you need emergency one, you should write web form and explain your situation then they will contact you though EPost and will explain how and what.
or you can send your RTD and when offices will resume your application will be in process,. good luck

Did you apply urgently or regularly? And how long, roughly, did it take you since you submitted until you received it?

Would strongly discourage anyone from leaving Canada at this time because people may get stuck abroad for many months and Canada is likely to tighten it's borders even more including the US. If you are receiving any type of support from the government that will limit how long you can leave Canada. In general you should be trying to establish your life in Canada, find employment, etc. so you are ready to support your family when they arrive in Canada. Your access to healthcare may be affected if you don't meet the residency obligations for healthcare in your province and you could be asked to pay back any services you have received. The country you want to visit often limits how long you can stay. In general there isn't a firm rule but the intention is for people to start integrating into the workforce, learning English/French if they don't know either language, etc. and in general contributing to the country that has given you protection. Leaving as soon as you get approval or spending a lot of time abroad will get some negative feedback from many CBSA agents and you will likely be questioned about the amount of time abroad and whether you may have returned to your home country especially if there is a land border nearby. I does look like you already spent December and January abroad.

I think you need to stop stereotyping refugees. I am a full time Master's student with two part time jobs and not on social assistance. My question was simple and clear, how long am I allowed to stay outside the country as I don't want to break any rules/ nor be in trouble. It's funny how you took the time to search through my posts- but yes I did travel during the winter and if you are not in my shoes and don't know why I did, then you don't get to judge.

1. you can go at https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/fees/travel-document-canada.html

2. You need to fill the webform and explain why you need the RTD for urgent purposes. it can be found at https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

3. Refugee travel document and certificate of identity services are available for urgent travel only,
if you apply regularly no one knows when you’ll get it may take more than 6 months

4x. You can send photocopies as long as it’s signed by the guarantor
