IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

Yes, i had an interview and then waited the oath invite, did the oath and then a week after the oath got the certificate in the mail.

How much time between the Interview and the Oath? Are you based in the Greater Toronto Area?

The inteview is virtual unless you answer “no” to the Microsoft Teams consent form, and then they will reschedule you when in-person services resume.

In most cases, nothing you already didn’t submit on paper. They will provide the instructions together with your interview date.

Sorry to piggyback here, the Interview to DM could be quick but DM to Oath can take 4 to 6 weeks and can be even longer.

Hello everyone I am posting to give 2018 applicants who are waiting some hope.

Scarborough Office
Citizenship Application. 18July 2018
AOR , September 11th 2018
In Process September 14th 2018
No documents was ever requested
Test ready September 2019
Test invite February 2020
Test cancel due to Covid March 2020
Online test started December 2020 nothing happening. I wrote my MP. Citizenship Minister. Contacted the Ottawa Office and Prime Minister. February 2021.
Test invite 17th March 2021. Between 20th March to 8th April.
Test completed on 20th March past 20/20. It was not an easy test all question came from Discover Canada. Online test did not help.
Interview invite 30th March 2021
Interviewed on 13th April. Just verification of documents.
Decision made 13th April the office made decision right after interview.
Oath invitation 15th April 2021
Oath ceremony 23rd April 2021
Online status completed 24th 2021
42 people was sworn in at 10 am.

for everyone waiting keep the faith but also keep pushing your MP. As much as I am happy for Everyone getting there citizenship. The process is not fair. 2018 applicants should not be still waiting in the que. my spouse and myself have no idea why they just had our application sitting there. Every time I called they would say our application it good nothing is needed and we would get our test soon. As you can see it did not happen it’s almost three years of waiting.

Thanks a lot for posting your timeline!! It gave me hope. I applied in March 2019, downtown Toronto, file with the Scarborough office. I have been told by two separate call center agents last year that all background checks are done and I'm just in line for the test since February 2020. The 3 GCMS notes that I requested at various times have been identical (the latest I received 2 weeks ago). No one touched my file since January 2020. Like you, I never got any requests for anything else...

Trying to call IRCC since morning but after going through all the tedious options they just hang up saying all agents are busy. I am calling 18882422100. Does anyone have an easier way or number to reach them... much appreciated

Unfortunately… nope… that’s the only number. You just have to keep trying… I know the pain after going through 6 mins of options and they are all busy… try around 3:45pm… and let them call you back. Even it’s gonna be past 4 but they still will call you

8 am is the best time to call. I have called couple of times and it was so pleasant to talk to agents, who were gearing up and warning for a long day ahead.

So the strangest (and most frustrating) thing has happened this eve. My wife received a fresh FP request although fingerprints were sent back in February and her status changed to DM earlier this month. It still shows as DM on her ECAS. Is this normal? We were expecting movement on the oath this week based on a call with the contact centre so this is most unexpected. Thoughts from the group on next steps? Should I call again or email the immigration officer who interviewed us?
