Hey, do you know if we have to apply for new SIN after PR or raise a request for new SIN. Is there any link that provided the step by step process for the same?

You need to apply for a new SIN, and Health Card (if you have one) after getting PR.
When you get your new SIN, you need to at least inform your employer and your banking institution. And to the CRA.
@EscoBlades : I saw lot of Aug applicants got some status. Did you got any updates from IRCC or at least GU? I know you are very active in forum and helping others, so I will be happy if you get some updates. Just wanted to know if you are inland or anything is blocking your application progress.
Same here just shows COPR number and no actual document...waiting for the letter.
Nothing so far, thanks for asking. The last update was January 14, when my Eligibility switched to Recommend Pass.
Yes i'm Inland. My file just simply hasn't been picked up by an Officer yet. I ordered GCMS notes from the CBSA but just got a notification this morning that they need a 30 day extension.
Are you serious? I ordered mine from CBSA last week because people were saying they were quicker than IRCC...

To be fair, this is the first time they have ever asked for an extension. I've ordered from them twice, and from the IRCC once and they have all arrived within the 30 day time limit.

CBSA is more responsive and reliable vs IRCC when requesting Gcms Notes, that does not mean extensions won't be taken at all by CBSA. Here is a detailed comparison of CBSA vs IRCC. The statistics section tells it all. https://bit.ly/37k2vGL
I’ve ordered twice. IRCC came in 30d. CBSA requested extension and came in just shy of 60d. I did CBSA because everyone said it was faster and more reliable. I’m trying to not order another and hope against hope that I just get approval soon.

The only main benefit of GCMS notes is the amount of detail they contain, which could be of use to some applicants. Conversely, they take, on average, a month to arrive, by which time, the information in them is outdated. Ultimately depends on if the detail in the notes outweighs the timeliness of their arrival.
