working under study permit while waiting for extension approval

Hi.

I applied for study permit extension on December, but I haven't got the approval yet. My question is that, am I eligible to work while I am waiting for approval? I believe I can work, but I couldn't find the answer on the cic website. can anyone provide the link for me?

Yes you can as per the conditions placed on your study permit on number of hours you can work on or off campus. If you applied before expiration of your original study permit, you have “Implied status”, but if you applied after you can not and you need restoration
