Suggestions on ways to move forward with my and my boyfriend profiles

Hello,

I think I have a complicated situation. I am in relationship with a person who right now is in Canada pursing his post grad studies until December, 2021(we are not yet married). I am planning to move to Canada from USA(right now under H1B Visa). Looking for suggestions to choose best possible path for both of us to get PR in coming year. Below are the options I am aware of,

Option 1: EE
Attempted IELTS recently, got results just 2 days back. CRS score is now 478 with just my profile under FSW.
1. Should I go ahead with entering into EE pool ?
2. After getting ITA, get married and add my partner as spouse ?
3. How long is in general PR process with COVID situations in case regular draws for FSW happens near time ?
4. Would there be delay in processing when spouse is added ?

Option 2: This is tentative plan in case FSW draws doesn't happen for this year.
As my partner is already in Canada, he will be having Work Permit till next year.
1. Should we wait till next year for FSW draws and later follow Option 1
2. Or should we get married and later add me for open work permit ? How long open work permit approval takes ?

Any positive suggestions are valuable. Please dont throw harsh comments as we are really new to Canada Immigration and are not knowledgeable of every process/way for migration. Looking forward for positive feedbacks/inputs.

NOTE: We are preferring Canada over US migration for personal reasons.

In my opinion, You should go with option 1 because;

1) Your partner have almost 8 months to complete his studies so till then you can apply under FSW because IRCC issued new statement yesterday that IRCC is coming back to normal processing which means there will be FSW or All programs draw in near future. So you have high chances of getting ITA before end of this year and you can add your spouse after ITA (adding spouse usually increases processing time).

2) In case, if covid gets more worse (which I pray it won't) then you have option 2. and also later on you won't regret that you didn't try option 1 (which I believe is more quicker than option 2).

Regarding processing times, according to me it is unpredictable. I have seen some people getting PRs in 43 days and some are still waiting for more than 15 months.

Again, these are just my thoughts. You can wait for other comments as well.

Thanks for your inputs. Other couple questions, when I add spouse to my PR process - do they get PR as well - how long their approval takes if this is the case and meanwhile as my spouse(future) will already be in his own PGWP - is there a chance to extend/renew this PGWP while PR in process ?

Also any other paths that we should be exploring ?

I am not that expert but what I know is if your application is in process and you add your spouse (married after date of application submission), your spouse will also get PR and it will increase processing time.
If your spouse's PGWP will expire during PR process. He can apply for Bridger Over Work Permit.

This can be best answered by Immigration Consultant because there may be other ways which depends on province, job type or other special programs depending on your or your spouse's profile.

There is no mention about actually getting married? Have you been dating for a long time? Will you be having a traditional marriage ceremony with your parents? Have you spent a lot of time in person because that will factor into whether you can even enter Canada.

We are in long-distance relationship since couple years and planning to get married next year(currenty figuring out our possibilities), right now, I dont have intention to enter Canada immediately in either case, I applied for visitor visa with a request to consider approving while mentioning to travel after all restrictions are lifted ? Would there be a problem in such case ?
