No. i didn't book appointment i just went there today and they only asked for my UCI number plus one Identity card. (Drivers license or Medical Card).

You claimed your asylum at immigration office so, your document will still with them at Etobicoke office. people who claimed asylum at boarder with CBSA can go to CBSA office to request for their documents.
When I called IRCC months ago about my passport, I was told to write a letter explaining why I need it. I wasn't even allowed to enter into their office that I needed to book an appointment. I am from Edmonton, Alberta. I'm surprised now that you wrote that one could just walk in with COPR and get one's passport within 1 hour. Or does this only happens with people in Mississauga? Thanks
Maybe. thats the situation with CBSA Mississauga office. each office with different procedure. immigration is different from boarder service agency. they only asked me to go and wait inside my car that they will call me when they finish the process and they called me in after around 30-45 minutes.

Hmmm...I made a claim at IRCC office in Etobicoke. Have you heard if they still transfer and keep the passports in CBSA office?
