Hey there, would really appreciate any help we can get. Background on the issue: My Australian partner has been on a working holiday visa for the last 2 years. It expired this past September. Right before it expired, we applied for an extension. The extension resulted in him receiving a visitor record for the past month that expires in one week. We do not want to be separated as I cant get into Australia and he doesn't have the funds to get in (tickets and hotel quarantine). We are just wondering what we can do. Our questions:
1. Can we apply for a visitor record extension. We are hoping to get married and start his spousal sponsorship.
2. With covid, can he leave and get back into Canada on a new visitor visa. Seems unlikely.
3. Should we let his status expire and try to restore it.
4. Do we have any other options.

We moved in together in January so it hasn't been a year. After everything I read last night, it seems that we can apply for an extension which is promising. Do you know if its possible to have one granted because we want to apply for an outland pr. We want outland over inland because our plans have always been to go to Australia whenever the borders open up so we don't want to be stuck here with an inland one.
