Thread for 2019 - 2020 - Dependent Child sponsorship Applications

Hello, did anyone try to apply for a TRV for his child while the sponsorship application is under process? I heard that it could be difficult for a spouse but not for a dependent child under 14. Anyone can advise?

I had applied on DEC 14, 2020. Got confirmation of application on Feb 3, 2021. Meanwhile, my son's sponsorship is pending in NDVO from March 2 in NDVO.
I have reached out to CIC through a web form to expedite TRV as I have less hope with NDVO(They take their own sweet time).
I pro-actively uploaded the same medical report I did for Psponsorship to TRV also.

Hoping for some miracle.

Wish you best of luck for both applications. I didn’t know that TRV also requires medical exam.

I got TRV while sponsorship application was in process. Didn't face any issue, got TRV and moved to Canada then I changed the address of my child to Canada.

Thanks for replying. So you and your child were sponsored by your spouse? That’s exactly my situation. Can i know how long it took to get the TRV and if health care was offered to your child while under visitor status?

Health care is not covered...once kid gets a COPR then you can apply for health card...

Hi I am also intending to apply TRV for my child while the PR is being processed. What did you put in the dates for stay in the application form and for financial support there are 2 separate line items, do we have to upload the same document in both?

If you are residing in BC or Alberta, your child can get a provincial health care card. You can't if your child lives in Ontario.
I'm not sure about any other provicne.

Health care is not covered...once kid gets a COPR then you can apply for health card...

In BC, we can get a MSP card if I apply for their PR.

Hi, I Had received the passport request letter for my daughter , to be submitted at VFS India , But she is already in Canada in TRV. As per the instruction in the Passport Request letter if the baby was already in-canada, i can send it to CPC -Ottawa ( with Passport, copy of the letter, Photos) on March 31.
However , I got them returned today saying that "a visa office will be contact with information on confirming your status as a PR".

has anyone know about this ? Can u please advise the next steps..?
Is there a number that i can try reaching out to , since as per the passport request letter, the passport should have been sent within 30 days of the letter.
appreciate any guidance on this please.

New virtual landing process, this is normal. You'll get something more in a while. There is a thread here, solved returned from Ottawa or similar title where others have experienced this.

Was there nothing at all included with the passport etc when returned to you?

I think we are in the same boat.
Please refer this email I've got last week from MVO.
Hope it will help.

Please note this might take a few weeks, so you do not have to worry about the 30-day deadline mentioned in our initial email. "

We should wait for another few weeks...., but you don't need to worry about the 30-day deadline.
It is really time-consuming process...

There was a generic letter included that said the below.

"A visa office will contact you with information on confirming your status as a permanent citizen" .

and Since the passport request letter originated from VFS Delhi , am not sure how to communicate to them that my baby is already in-canada.

Thanks, helps a lot to know this. But the mail I got for the original passport request was from VFS Delhi, and it asked me to submit the passport within 30 days and if already in-Canada, then to send the passport and copy of the letter directly to CPC-Ottawa.

Now that CPC-Ottawa has returned the passport with the generic letter "A visa office will contact you with information on confirming your status as a permanent citizen"... So am not sure should i send some sort of communication to VFS Delhi that my baby is already in Canada, ( there was no contact information in the letter).

Plus, my baby TRV is also expired now, so should I reapply for a extension or now that passport request is received for the PR, can i leave it as it is ?
