If you are in Canada and your spouse in India you can send an email requesting to reunite with your family to IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca to expedite your application

If you are exempt from the travel restrictions, you will need authorization in writing from our office to be presented to the airline. For externally-organized or repatriation flights, please also check with the airline.
To request this letter, please write toIRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca to tell us
· you’re exempt from the travel restrictions
· you need to travel for an essential purpose
· you have an application in process
· how you applied for your visa—online or by paper
When emailing us, make sure you give us the following information:
· your application number
· your unique client identifier (UCI) number
· where you live now (current country of residence)
· how you meet one of the exemption criteria
· evidence that you meet this exemption (provide proof as an attachment in your email)
o For example, if you qualify as an immediate family member of a Canadian citizen or Canadian permanent resident, you can provide one of the following:
§ a letter of support from your family member
§ your birth certificate
§ your marriage licence
§ a letter from your spouse, partner or parent
· why you need to travel to Canada for an essential purpose
· although it’s not recommended that you book travel before you get your visa, if you’ve booked travel, provide your travel itinerary, including your
o flight number
o departing time and location
o arrival time and location
Obtaining authorization to travel does not exempt you from the requirement to have a valid passport and visa. If you are from a visa exempt country, you will require an eTA. The final determinations to allow a traveller to board an aircraft is made by the airline, often in consultation with the Canada Border Services Agency. Everyone is subject to examination when entering Canada and a traveller may be deny entry if they are not exempt from the travel restrictions or if they do not meet requirements under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

But I just wish to confirm our timeline.
Did u applied on March 2021 or March 2020, because I saw your previous posts which indicates you were waiting for PPR from last year.

I applied for my study permit last year and then deferred my intake to Nov 2020. Spouse's visa was applied on Mar 04th 2021.

Mail sent for family reunification request : March 29,2021
No updates until yesterday
Medical Passed : April 08, 2021
PPR : April 08, 2021
And we got an authorization letter in the GCkey account too.

We did a medical exam upfront and submitted the profile. Below is the mail I sent, if this would help you. Also you have to attach the study permit, marriage certificate, proof of marriage etc.

Do you or anyone here have any idea of what to do if we didn't give an upfront medical and we have waiting just for the medical request from 9 weeks. Can we go and do our medical now? Any advice would be appreciated

I believe that presently Canada Immigration is very busy with too many files.
So getting medical request seems way too much difficult.
I feel you should do upfront medical & send it along with the TA.
Thats the best option according to me.

I have a quick question. Please advise if your visa says issued from "Abu Dhabi" or Philippines because I remember you have applied from Philippines.
One more question, did you file your SOWP from Dubai/UAE or that also you select Philippines because I have seen your mentioned the medical for SWOP.
