Hi Everyone,
I had applied for visitor visa on Sep. 2020, and gave my fingerprints on Oct. 16, 2020. But i didn't receive any updates after that, is this normal?

I have applied for visitor visa for tourism purposes on 24 March 2021. Biometrics done on 31 March 2021 (Dubai). Received update yesterday that “ we are checking your eligibility”... is it a good sign? How much time they will take to check and when i will get final decision?

From Iran, do this long time mean approval? No i haven't any family in Canada.

Current processing times are 295 days for Iran. Even with approval, you can’t travel to Canada until travel restrictions are lifted.

Processing for Dubai is over a year. Checking eligibility is part of the process so neither positive nor negative.

Is there any chance that They approve my visa for travelling in future (after restrictions removal) or They will reject because there are travel restrictions ?

Officers can approve your visa with or without travel restrictions. You only applied last month so may not get any response for another year.
