Proof of Funds?

Hi there

I am working on my CEC PR application and just had a question about Proof of Funds. On the following gov link below it does state "You do not have to meet the funds requirement if you were invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class. " :

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1145&top=29

However, my consultant has advised me that although CEC applicants aren't required to meet the funds requirement or show proof of funds, that he still recommends I provide it to prevent any delays with the RICC as the officer may occasionally still ask CEC applicants for it.

With that being said, I am on the fence and want to know other peoples opinion or experience in this. Has anyone on here ever been asked for proof of funds on their CEC application? Should I provide proof of funds in my application or just submit my application without it?

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated :)

Hello Friends,
I have added 12960 while applying for cec as proof of funds,

I got the ita 18th March and my profile is showing I am eligible for bot cec and fsw,

Should I have to include those proof of funds and then write letter of explanation that I do not have to show proof of funds

or do not inclue any proof of funds and mention in letter of explanation that I do not have to show any funds.

I am worried because I have added that number while I am applying..

Thanks for your help in advance!!

I can understand your situation. My lawyer also asking me to provide bank as well as credit card statements. I think so it complicates the file if it's mentioned on the CIC website then we don't need to provide the fund's info. We can change the amount to 0 and then upload the letter of explanation.

I provided an explanation letter stating that since I'm applying under CEC, I am not required to provide proof of funds.

Got approved last Wednesday.
Congratulations !!!!

So leave the number as it is, provide those details in Letter of Explanation?

Your consultant is an idiot.

You are welcome to provide POF is you want, but you don't need to. It is not a factor in the equation.

Same as adding 0, makes no difference.

If you put an amount other than 0 it will ask you to submit your POF. Which you can do if that makes you happy as it will serve no other purpose. You can also simply submit a brief letter stating that you are not required to submit POF since your a CEC applicant.

End of story.
